DC, IDW and Nickelodeon reunite for Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III

When the first Batman/TMNT series was announced in 2015 I loved the idea, but honestly couldn’t see how it could work beyond a gimmick. Now after two successful series and an off shoot for one in the Animated style aptly titled Batman/TMNT Adventures DC, IDW and Nickelodeon are reteaming once again for the final chapter of the epic sage with Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III.

In the first two blockbuster volumes, our heroes battled the evil of the Foot Clan in Gotham and then went head-to-head with Bane in New York. But now, in the third and biggest chapter, Krang has gotten his hands on the most dangerous technologies in the DC Universe—and no universe is safe from his wrath! Once again Tynion IV reunites with artist Freddie E. Williams and colorist Jeremy Colwell for this six issue series that also brings TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman back doing variant covers as well as contribute interior artwork at a pivotal point in the new run.

As if this wasn’t already great news they also announced this week that this unlikely team up is getting the animated treatment with the all-new feature film Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arriving on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital later this spring, based on Tynion IV and Williams II’s first volume of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Be there to celebrate Batman’s 75th anniversary and the Turtles 35th anniversary with what will no doubt be a history making series when Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III hits stores beginning May 1st from DC, IDW and Nickelodeon.
