Dark Knights: Metal # 1                                review by Bobby Blakey

DC kicked off their next big event series this year with Dark Days: The Casting and Dark Days: The Forge all leading into the new series Dark Knights: Metal from creators Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.

As Dark Knights: Metal begins, the Dark Multiverse is revealed in all its devastating danger that will push Batman, Superman and heroes of the Justice League beyond their limits to take on threats unlike any our world has ever seen! It will take the combined might of the World’s Greatest Heroes as you’ve never seen them before to face what’s coming their way! Anytime the team of Snyder and Capullo get together you already know it is going to be magic and this issue is no different. Right out of the gate we get thrust right into an awesome fight featuring the Justice League which I have to admit was awesome seeing Capullo’s take on them. This entire action sequence delivers everything you could want setting up the insanity to come.

Once we get through that initial action portion we are dumped head first into even more chaos setting the tone of the entire story and it does not disappoint. Snyder has crafted a great story here that not only goes in a bold new direction, but also takes you down a road filled with familiar faces in cool new ways. Getting to see Capullo work on this variety of characters is a dream come true. His style brings them to life like never before like only can. This is a dynamic and exciting book that will have the reader not only begging for more, but eager to see where this mysterious story is heading.
