Image announces the return of I Hate Fairyland in a new ongoing series

Superstar Skottie Young has been delivering some of the best covers and original artwork in the industry for years. In 2015 he unleashed his creator owned series I Hate Fairyland aka F*$k Fairyland to violent delight. The original series followed a forty-year-old woman in a six year old’s body, who has been stuck in the magical world of Fairyland for nearly thirty years.

Sadly in 2018 the series seemingly ended with issue 20 and I can’t be the only fan that was insanely bummed. More recently an ad started popping up in some of the Image titles announcing the return of the series and now the official news is finally here.

The new ongoing series follows Gert who is all grown up and living in the real world. Times are tough, and the only job she’s qualified for has her trying to find her way back to the place she hates the most…Fairyland.

The new series will be written by Young but this time feature art from Marvel’s Rocket and Groot artist Brett Bean. While I am bummed Young isn’t drawing it again I must say the art still looks great and as long as Young is still writing then I am all in.

The new ongoing series kicks off in November and feature covers from Scottie Young, Brett Bean and Peach Momoko. While you wait you can check out the covers and a sneak peek at the interiors here now form Image Comics.
