       Shaun the Sheep:

Complete Seasons 3 & 4

                       review by Bobby Blakey

For years Aardman studios has been churning out some of the best and most memorable stop motion animation including the famed Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run and The Pirates! Band of Misfits. One of their most popular and long running is that of Shaun the Sheep spanning TV series’, specials and most recently a big screen feature. Now fans of the series can bring home even more of the fun with seasons 3 & 4.

As with every season these seasons follow Shaun, the world's favorite little sheep, and his silly farm friends with even more farm-tastic misadventures. With over six hours of fun in 50 episodes across two seasons, this collection will no doubt be a must have for fan of the characters. Like every episode of this series these season once again bring all the laughs you expect complete with over the top shenanigans galore that includes all your favorite characters. There is little to say about these beloved characters that haven’t been said before, but the attention to detail with their mannerisms and facial features is amazing. The brilliant ability for them to bring what is essentially a silent film to life with so much life and sound is beyond amazing and these seasons are no exception. You totally understand all of the chaos, stress and insanity that is going on every minute including what all of these characters are thinking at every moment without a single word being uttered. Some of my favorite moments in the series come from the frustration of the farmer and all he is going through. You can always tell exactly how irritated, angry or sad he is with nothing but his actions and facial expressions.

I love that on some level they try to keep the animals only doing animal things and then it will quickly shift to the over the top silly fun of them doing pretty much anything you can think of. This show never seems to get old which explains how this cast of characters have lasted so long and will hopefully be with us for years to come. This collection features all 50 episodes from the two seasons on 4 discs that are full of all the laughs and fun fans have come to love in this series.

Grab your copy of Shaun the Sheep: Season 3 and 4 when it hits DVD on February 7th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
