DC announces Superman: Year One on DC Black Label
In 2018 DC Comics debut their new offshoot for more adult titles DC Black Label. Their first title Batman: Damned was met with some controversy and it was recently announced that their follow up title would bring back the dynamic duo of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo for Batman: Last Knight on Earth. Now the Man of Steel is getting in on the fun with the announcement of Superman: Year One from iconic creators Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.
Superman: Year One is a coming-of-age story for the future Man of Steel, featuring a young alien-boy just trying to find his place in a new world. Faced with the need to hide his heritage and powers in order to survive, Clark will find his humanity through the grounding of the Kent family and the relationships that will define the man he will become. Told by two of the most revered voices in comics, Superman: Year One is more than a superhero story – it’s about the choices made by Clark Kent on his path to becoming a legend. It’s a testament to the importance of choosing to become a hero.
The 3 issue series will hit stores beginning in June and then offer up a collected version in November. While you will have to wait awhile to get your hands on what is sure to be an awesome series you can check out the covers to all the issues and collected edition here now from DC Comics.
