For years director Adam McKay and Will Ferrell teamed up for comedy classics such as Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Step Brothers and The Other Guys. In 2004 they teamed up for the first time to create one of Ferrell’s most popular roles as Ron Burgundy in the film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. The film features a great cast including Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner, and Fred Willard. Now Paramount is bringing the comedy classic to 4K with a all-new 20trh Anniversary Edition.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy follows a time before cable when the local anchorman reigned supreme. Enter the hard-hitting world of the 1970s local TV news, where Ron Burgundy and his loyal Channel 3 News Team are San Diego's #1 rated news source.  All is well in their male-dominated world of news until beautiful, rising-star reporter Veronica Corningstone turns it all upside down. Sparks don't just fly they ignite an all-out war between the two perfectly coiffed anchorpersons.

I know this film isn’t for everyone, but for the people that enjoy this film love

it. It is one of my all-time favorite comedies that is absurd, over the top stupid and genius in every way. The entire cast go all in to create a group of characters that not only complement each other but balance out the dumb aspects of all their existence. Even the strait-laced person in Applegate shows signs of the silly and I love it. Of them all it is Ferrell and even more so Carell who keeps me laughing the most even after so many views.

This movie has so many hilarious quotable lines that I still use to this day and had me laughing all over again upon this rewatch. It’s the subtle moments that really work and are the most laughable and I will never get tired of them. There is no doubt I will be revisiting this film for years to come and hope this new release not only pleases fans, but also throws it in front of more new viewers.

In addition to the film this release offers up legacy bonus content including cast auditions, deleted scenes, bloopers, an “Afternoon Delight” music video, and much, much more.  As if that wasn’t enough, fans can enjoy both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film on Blu-ray, as well as WAKE UP, RON BURGUNDY: THE LOST MOVIE, a 92-minute film featuring outtakes and unused storylines from the original movie.

Prepare for the news and grab your copy of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy 20th Anniversary Edition when it hits 4K for the first time ever on July 2nd from Paramount Home Entertainment.
