Every so often studios release collections of their films that offer a great chance and value to get a hold of films you might not have bought otherwise. A lot of times they don’t make a lot sense to why these were chosen, but that’s not always the case. Universal is now releasing numerous focused collections that feature 10 movies from that specific catalog including the Blumhouse of Horrors 10-Movie Collection.

This collection brings together a wide variety of films across their filmography including The Purge (2013), Ouija (2014), The Boy Next Door (2015), Unfriended (2014), The Visit (2015), Split (2016), Get Out (2017), Happy Death Day (2017), Truth or Dare (2018), and MA (2019).

Collections of this size are hard to review each film because it would go on forever, so instead let’s talk about them as a whole and the benefit to this collection. Blumhouse has been bringing some really great horror films over the years with The Purge, Split and Get Out being some of my favorite. All of the films here deliver on some level with some way better than others, but that’s the beauty of a collection like this. You get the movies you love and ones you may not have typically taken a chance on all together.

Half of the films in this collection are now part of bigger franchises and the perfect jumping on point if you had never bothered to try them out.

It’s also a cool take on the theme not only being horror, but exclusively Blumhouse films. They have a vibe that seems pretty consistent and having them all in one fun collection is pretty cool. Sure there are obviously more, but these franchise starters and one offs are great to have together in one place.

I love almost all of the films in this collection making it the perfect collection for me and fans of Blumhouse horror. In addition to all 10 films which is enough of a reason to get this set it also offers up bonus features including deleted scenes, alternate endings, commentary, featurettes and more.

Prepare for the violence, laughs and terror with Blumhouse of Horrors 10-Movie Collection available now on Blu-ray from Universal Home Entertainment. In addition to this awesome set they have also released 3 others 10-film collections focusing on Illumination, Dreamworks and Focus Features all available now from Universal Home Entertainment.
