Interview with Diablo director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza
                                             by Bobby Blakey

Most people associate the martial arts genre with Asian cinema, but there are not only varying arts around the world; but action stars as well. In 2006 unknown director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza teamed up with then unknown star Marko Zaror to unleash the first South American martial arts film Kiltro. Since they have teamed up for numerous films including Mandrill, Mirageman, Redeemer and The Fist of the Condor. Now the two are teaming up once again and bringing martial arts action star Scott Adkins along for the ride in Diablo.

Diablo follows Kris Chaney, a warrior who seizes the daughter of a Colombian gangster to fulfill a noble promise to the young girl’s mother. When her father enlists both the criminal underworld and the terrifying psychotic killer El Corvo to exact his revenge, Kris will need to draw upon everything he has ever learned -- in and out of lockup -- to stay alive and keep his word.

I had the honor to sit down and speak with Espinoza on his latest film and what goes into bringing this world to life while working with two action star legends.

Be sure to check out Diablo in theaters, On Demand, and digital now from Lionsgate.
