Genndy Tartakovsky has delivered some of my favorite animated series including Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack and the original Clone Wars micro-series as well as directed the three Hotel Transylvania films. With his insanely awesome series Primal he headed into a more adult-themed animation and looks like that was just the beginning. His latest film, Fixed, looks to bring the laugh and more adult humor and features a great voice cast including Adam Devine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen, and Bobby Moynihan. Could this canine sex romp deliver, or should it have gotten fixed sooner?

Fixed follows Bull, an average, all-around good dog, who discovers he's going to be neutered in the morning. He realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of buddies, as these are the last 24 hours with his balls. What could go wrong?

I have been a fan of everything Genndy has done since Dexter’s Laboratory, so I was so excited to see him have a new full animated feature hitting Netflix. I knew the premise but avoided trailers and glad I did. This film is everything I thought it was going to be and even more adult than I had expected in a silly fun way.

The story is so silly and perfect for dealing with this pack of dogs. It takes on every trope you can think of with dogs and the ideals of how it makes them feel even in the most ridiculous ways. It goes all in in every aspect to deliver a hilarious and often over the top adult way. It isn’t overly graphic, but there is no denying anything that is going on and the depravity they are dealing with.

The animation is excellent as always and the visuals have a familiar design to
something like the old Ren & Stimpy series while still being very much its own thing. I loved all the different types of dogs and their unique looks that fleshed out this pack. The voice work is all great and the direction of the story is fun, dirty, creepy and hilarious from start to finish.

Remember this is an adult film and not for kids. So many people assume animation means for kids and this isn’t one of them. It drops the “F” bombs, brings the sex, talking testicles and so much more. I hope this film gets the audience it deserves because it is highly entertaining, and I would love to see more like this from Genndy and his crew.
