Sylvester Stallone is one of those few action icons that has managed to kick start more than one successful franchise. In 1982 Stallone took on an all-new role with First Blood that should have been a one-off film with the title character dying at the end, but thanks to a change in script kicked off the Rambo franchise spawning two sequels in the 80s and then another two years later in 2008 and 2019.

 

Now they are taking the story back to the beginning before First Blood with John Rambo. No official synopsis yet, but assuming there will be some Vietnam elements and military training involved to let us see how unstoppable soldier was born with Noah Centineo taking on the role of young John Rambo.

 

Normally I am against these types of prequels but with the Russo Brothers and Stallone himself producing and Sisu and Sisu: Road to Revenge director Jalmari Helander at the helm makes me have hope.
