For years there have been many video games turned into feature films, but often they just don’t work. For every Resident Evil there is a Super Mario Bros., but as technology has gotten so much better more properties are being offered to make the leap. In 2020 the face of SEGA Sonic the Hedgehog hit the big screen for his first live action adventure. After its success it was unsurprisingly followed up with a sequel in 2022.

This sequel not only introduced fans to Tails, but also the angry warrior Knuckles voiced by Idris Elba. We already knew we were getting a third film but were unaware that there was more to come before that in the way of the 6-part series on Paramount+ Knuckles. The series follows Knuckles on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.

This series takes place between Sonic 2 and the upcoming 3rd film and features the return of Adam Pally reprises his role from the film franchise as Wade Whipple along with special guest stars Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as Sonic, Tika Sumpter, reprising her role as Maddie and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails. In addition, the cast includes Stockard Channing, Edi Patterson, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, Julian Barratt, Rory McCann, Cary Elwes, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel.

All 6 episodes will hit Paramount+ on April 26th with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hitting theaters December 20th. While you wait you can check out the new poster and trailer here now with an additional spot hitting during Superbowl LVIII pregame broadcast from Paramount.
