Most people associate the martial arts genre with Asian cinema, but there are not only varying arts around the world; but action stars as well. In 2006 unknown director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza teamed up with then unknown star Marko Zaror to unleash the first South American martial arts film Kiltro. Since Zaror has gone on to cement himself as a martial arts action icon appearing in films such as Redeemer, Savage Dog, The Fist of the Condor, Killer’s Game, John Wick 4 and more recently Fight or Flight. Now he is reteaming with Espinoza for their latest action film Diablo that is bringing martial arts icon Scott Adkins to the mix as well.

Diablo follows Kris Chaney, a warrior who seizes the daughter of a Colombian gangster to fulfill a noble promise to the young girl’s mother. When her father enlists both the criminal underworld and the terrifying psychotic killer El Corvo to exact his revenge, Kris will need to draw upon everything he has ever learned -- in and out of lockup -- to stay alive and keep his word.

I had the honor to sit down and speak with Zaror on his latest film where he not only stars as the psychotic El Corvo but also serves as the fight choreographer.

Be sure to check out Diablo in theaters, On Demand, and digital now from Lionsgate.
