Sony announces new Resident Evil 6-Movie 4K Steelbook Collection

The Resident Evil video game series has been literally killing it with fans for years since its debut in 1996. Since then, it has had numerous iterations of the game as well as the popular film franchise that spawned 6 entries in the live action, 3 animated features, some TV series and a reboot film in 2021. Now Sony is bringing the original films series to 4K in an all-new 6-Movie Steelbook Collection.
Resident Evil (2002) follows a special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident. This first film in the franchise stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Eric Mabius, James Purefoy, Martin Crewes, and Colin Salmon from director Paul W. S. Anderson who helmed the entire series.

In the 2004 follow-up, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Alice is back and forced to face off against an unstoppable, bio-engineered killing machine in the action-packed sequel to the sci-fi smash hit. This sequel saw the return of Milla Jovovich along with Sienna Guillory, Oded Fehr, Thomas Kretschmann, Jared Harris, and Mike Epps.

In 2007 Jovovich returned for Resident Evil: Extinction and followed the survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe who travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight against the evil Umbrella Corp. Old and new faces returned including Oded Fehr, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Ashanti, and Mike Epps.

Resident Evil: Afterlife brought Alice back once again to theaters in 2010 with Jovovich once again alongside Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Spencer Locke, Boris Kodjoe, and Wentworth Miller. The film follows a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, where Alice continues her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety.

The franchise returned to theaters once again in 2012 for Resident Evil: Retribution where humanity has just one hope to avoid extinction: Alice. She's on a mission, fighting her way through cities and across continents, all inside Umbrella's prime research facility. Jovovich continues her long reign as Alice once again alongside a supporting cast including Michelle Rodriguez, Kevin Durand, Sienna Guillory, Shawn Roberts, Aryana Engineer, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb, and Li Bingbing.
In 2016 Milla Jovovich and Paul W. S. Anderson teamed up for one last time for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter that follows Alice back to The Hive in Raccoon City, where Umbrella Corp is gathering forces for a final strike against the remaining survivors. The final outing co-stars Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Edin Macken, William Levy, and Iain Glen.
This collection not only features all the films in gloriously gory 4K, but offers up all the previously released bonus content for all 6 films including commentaries, outtakes, featurettes and so much more as well as some all-new content for fans to enjoy.
