Look Who's Walking review by Bobby Blakey
Ever since the series debuted in 2005 Robot Chicken has been bringing the laughs with not only its regular series, but also numerous specials focusing on Star Wars and DC Comics. Now they are stepping into the world of the undead with the latest special The Robot Chicken: Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking.
If you have been living under a rock and never heard of Robot Chicken is a provocative sketch comedy that has received acclaim from critics and fans, alike, with its clever pop-culture parodies and the unique use of stop motion animation of toys, action figures and dolls. This new special not only features the usual voice work from regulars Seth Green and Breckin Meyer, but the cast of the Walking Dead themselves including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, Sarah Wayne Callies as well as Nerdist Industries CEO and Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick and creator Robert Kirman.
Much like everything they deliver this one brings the laughs like only they can. There are plenty of nods to the entire run of the Walking Dead that they took in all-new hilarious directions to perfection. The cast were clearly all in for the fun as they brought some great energy to their takes on these parodies making it all the more funny. Their stop motion animation is as great as ever with some clever use of their characters and environments that reminds you why this show remains so successful. The book ends to that connect this special is excellent and made the entire things come together perfectly with laugh out loud results.
