    A Shaun the Sheep Movie:

               Farmageddon

                                  review by Bobby Blakey

For years Aardman studios has been churning out some of the best and most memorable stop motion animation including the famed Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run and The Pirates! Band of Misfits. One of their most popular and long running is that of Shaun the Sheep spanning TV series’, specials and a big screen feature. Now they are bringing home another fun filled adventure of Shaun with the all-new special Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon, but does it offer up more of the same hilarious fun or should it stop completely once and for all?

Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas follows Shaun who decides to tag along with the Farmer and Blitzer when they go to the county fair and crafts a brilliant plan to bring three exotic and witty llamas back to the farm. At first it is all fun and exciting, but soon the llamas get a bit too wild in their new home.

As with all of their Shaun stories this one once again brings all the laughs you expect complete with over the top shenanigans galore that includes all your favorite characters. There is little to say about these beloved characters that haven’t been said before, but the attention to detail with their mannerisms and facial features is amazing.

The new llama characters are excellent bringing even more fun and chaos to the farm than what they already typically deal with. Each of them has unique personality that is fun to watch in action. The always brilliant ability for them to bring what is essentially a silent film to life with so much life and sound is beyond amazing and this latest outing is no exception. You totally understand all of the chaos, stress and insanity that is going on every minute including what all of these characters are thinking at every moment without a single word being uttered.

While this new special is only about an hour that is more than enough time to get some great entertainment every second. In addition to this fun new special there is a variety of special features including behind the scenes featurettes giving insight to how they made the film and 2 bonus episodes from the popular Shaun the Sheep series. Head back to the farm and meet the llamas with Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas available now on DVD from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
