Paramount and Legendary bringing Street Fight back to the big screen

Video game movie adaptations have a hit and miss history on the big screen. In 1994 Jean Claude Van Damme stepped in to lead the charge for the first Street Fighter film and sadly didn’t hit the mark for most viewers. They tried again in 2009 with Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li and once again missed the mark. Now they are trying once again with the aptly titled Street Fighter with The Eric Andre Show, Twisted Metal, and Bad Trip director Kitao Sakurai at the helm.

The film already features a great diverse cast including Noah Centineo as “Ken Masters”, Andrew Koji as “Ryu”, Callina Liang as “Chun-Li”, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as “Akuma”, David Dastmalchian as “M. Bison”, Cody Rhodes as “Guile”, Andrew Schulz as “Dan Hibiki”, Eric André as “Don Sauvage”, Vidyut Jammwal as “Dhalsim”, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as “Balrog”, Jason Momoa as “Blanka” Orville Peck as “Vega”, Olivier Richters as “Zangief”,

Hirooki Goto as “E. Honda”, Rayna Vallandingham as “Juli”, Alexander Volkanovski as “Joe”, Kyle Mooney as “Marvin”, and Mel Jarnson as “Cammy”.

Street Fighter follows estranged Street Fighters Ryu and Ken Masters who are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!

While you will have to wait until October 2026 to see the film in theaters, you can check out the new character posters and the first teaser trailer as well as the previously released video game start screens here now from Paramount.
