Like most fans I was pretty upset when Cartoon Network cancelled the Young Justice series, but thankfully they finally brought it back for the DC Universe Streaming. Before it’s big return though we got Teen Titans Go! a new series that took a more comedic approach to the original Teen Titans series from 2003 and I was skeptical if it would work, but thankfully it did. It is still going strong and even had its own theatrical film, but now they are bringing some of them home once again with Season 5 Part 1.

Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Raven continue the excitement in season five of TEEN TITANS GO! with all-new comedic escapades, giving viewers a look at what life is really like as a teen super hero … once the cape comes off. This character-driven comedy — based upon DC characters — focuses on the funny that happens in between saving the world and living together as teenagers without adult supervision. With epic staring contests to decide who does the laundry, a series of quests and battles to construct the perfect sandwich or fighting crime in Jump City, one thing is for sure — these Titans are always ready for an adventure, inside the house and out.

This show just gets funnier with every episode. They continue to throw in elements from their original show while making fun of the entire DC Universe with hilarious results. I love all the additions of the varying other DC characters

that show up including the “Next Top Talent” search multipart episode. This is just one of the many hilarious elements during this season. I constantly laugh out loud at this show and applaud its non-stop self-deprecating one liners and over the top stories.

This show will never take the place of the other Teen Titans series but it’s not trying to be. This series continues to be its own thing and has carved its own history into the DC Universe like only it can. The animation continues to shine and every character here is given their moment to stand out along with the tons of other characters that show up. If you are looking for a great time in the world of DC then Teen Titans Go! is the show for you.

This collection brings together 26 episodes from the fifth season for fans to dive right into over and over again. Teen Titans Go! Season 5 Part 1 is available now on DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
