Terminator 2: Judgement Day 4K Ultra                           review by Bobby Blakey

It’s rare that the sequel to a film surpasses the original, but that is exactly what happened in most people’s opinions when director James Cameron delivered the 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgement Day. While I love this movie, I have always been partial to the 1984 original, but there is no doubt the sequel took it to a new level. Recently they rereleased the film in theaters for a limited run to celebrate its 4K release and now they are bringing it home.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day follows John Connor, the future leader of the human resistance, who is now a healthy young boy over 10 years after the first Terminator tried to murder Sarah Copnnor. However another Terminator is sent back through time called the T-1000, which is more advanced and more powerful than its predecessor. The Mission: to kill John Connor when he's still a child. However, Sarah and John do not have to face this threat of a Terminator alone. Another Terminator is also sent back through time. The mission: to protect John and Sarah Connor at all costs.

This film has become iconic in the genre and not even all that necessary to review as a film, but it holds up to perfection. After seeing this movie hundreds of time I wasn’t what this new one would really have to offer, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The film is as awesome as ever and continues to hold up on every level. This new 4K transfer looks outstanding and is noticeable right out of the gate with the opening future battle. It takes the film to a whole new visual level and makes it all the better. I know this film is only from the 90s, but a lot of times the effects just don’t hold up all that well especially with the 4K look, but this one is so well done it looks even better in this Ultra HD. This is a must have for any fans of the film and offers up not only the film but a ton of bonus content including deleted scenes, trailers, featurettes and more including a new 55 minute documentary including all new interviews.
