Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:           Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady

                                                       review by Bobby Blakey

I have loved the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series from the moment it debuted in 2012 and has gotten better with every episode. In its fifth season they changed the name of the series to Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and took it to an all-new level. Now you can bring home another collection of the episodes from this new season with Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady.

In this latest collection, dimensions collide in this one-of-a-kind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles special, when '80s Shredder and Krang transport themselves to present-day New York. There they team up with Bebop and Rocksteady for the ultimate throwback throw-down against the Turtles. This four-episode collection not only brings back classic and villainous faces, but also takes fans back to where it all began - with a newly mutated Splinter on the run while protecting four baby mutant turtles. I have loved this series since the first episode, but this might have been the most fun of them all. The story of bringing the two versions of the property together is pure brilliance that offers up plenty of action and pokes fun at itself in the most fun and respectable way.

I love seeing the 80s versions of the characters updated into this style of animation all while still keeping the same look. Add to the mix the traditional animation excerpts from the other dimension and you have perfection. This full arc is one that will not only please the fans of both shows, but offers up just how great this show really is and will no doubt have those late to the party eager to see more episodes. The other episode offered up is a great story retelling the origin of the turtles and splinter that is great in its own right that also serves as a good bookend for bringing these two shows together.

In addition to the episodes this release also includes an exclusive “ Ice Cream Kitty” music video. This release offers up these episodes before they have aired on TV making this a must h ave for any fan of the turtles. Grab your copy of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady when it hits DVD on September 12th from Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment.
