There are few comedy duo’s that have stood the test of time like Cheech and Chong. Their hilarious albums still hold up today and with a film career that took them through seven films. Now Shout Factory Select is bringing the second film in their filmography aptly titled Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie to Blu-ray for the first time ever.

Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie follows Cheech who must deal with losing his job, his angry neighbor, and trying to score with sexy Donna. Meanwhile, Chong meets Cheech's cousin Red and the two have a wild time in Hollywood with a big bag of buds and a cool Ferrari. Along the way they meet everyone from Pee Wee Herman to really cool aliens. I  how bad some of the later ones were. This second outing though still holds up in all its ridiculous fun glory. This film screams 80s comedy complete with the over the top antics, nudity and drug fueled fun you would expect from the world of Cheech and Chong.

This time around they split them up for most of the film with two separate stories with Cheech playing not only the usual stoner character, but his crazy cousin Red as well that is something else to see. One of the most entertaining things about these old movies is also seeing the early performances of other actors including Michael Winslow and Paul Reubens aka Pee Wee Herman in his first big screen turn as the famed character.

I still laugh out loud at this ridiculously funny movie and am so glad it made into the Shout Select archive. This release not only includes the film but also the theatrical trailer, radio spots and an all-new interview with Cheech Marin.
