             Justice League x RXBY:
Super Heroes & Huntsmen Part Two
                      review by Bobby Blakey

For years Warner Bros and DC Comics have been churning out some great animated features including Batman: Killing Joke, The Death of Superman, Batman: Soul of the Dragon and more recently Batman: Doom Comes To Gotham. In early 2023 they brought two worlds together with the feature Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsman Part One. Now the second half of the story is here with the aptly named title Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsman Part Two. Could it bring more of the same mash up fun or should they have never met?

Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen Part Two follows the members of the Justice League on the heels of successfully escaping a deadly digital trap, who emerge in their own world to discover that Grimm, ravenous creatures from Remnant, have overtaken Earth! In order to defeat the monsters, they must call on their new friends – Team RWBY – for help!

Back in the day I used to watch some anime, but over the years kind of fallen out of the loop so admit I knew nothing about RWBY outside of its existence and that they did a crossover comic series I believe. So heading into the first film I was in the dark about much of their back story and was concerned that I just wasn’t going to be able to connect to it because of it. Thankfully it is crafted to understand that fans of either property may be in the same boat and offer up enough info to make it work and get to know them all. The same is said for the sequel that kicks things off with a recap of the previous films and flashes to the other aspects of the RWBY universe when discussed to catch us up.

Much like the first film it wastes no time jumping right into the thick of it all with this time never really letting up until the very end. There is just enough set up playing off the previous film to get things going and then they just

kick ass for literally almost the entire run time of the film. It is a fun twist with bringing the RWBY gang into the DC universe this time around and changing up their looks as well so that we get another new element to the tale.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the animation style in the first film, but it worked great to bring a bright, vibrant tone to the overall visuals that looks really cool. I assume it is closer in tone to the RWBY world and offers them a chance to bring in new designs of the iconic DC Heroes and big props to some great looks and abilities. It looks just as good if not better this time around further enhancing it all getting to see all the DC heroes and villains the way we know, but in this art style and it looks great.

While it gives a recap at the beginning this film does need the other film to really work. These serve better as one long film that I hope they release at some point. They feed off of each other as one long story and this action packed second half is so much better, but needs the history and story of the previous outing to be more than just a throwaway action piece.

This release not only offers up the latest feature in the series, but also bonus content including featurettes taking fans behind bringing this film to life. Be there when the two worlds collide once again when Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsman, Part Two available now on digital, 4K, Blu-ray and DVD from Warner Bros Home Entertainment, DC and Rooster Teeth.
