Peanuts by Schulz: Go Team GO!                      review by Bobby Blakey

“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.”

There are few cartoons and comic strips that are as iconic as Charles Shulz Peanuts. Over the years outside of the classic comic strip they have delivered a ton of TV specials and more recently the big screen animated feature. Now Warner Bros. is bringing a collection of the cartoons from the newly launched cable series with Peanuts by Schulz: Go Team Go!

Peanuts by Schulz: Go Team Go! follows Charlie Brown, his lovable beagle, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang in the first new animated Peanuts cartoon series in over 10 years presenting viewers with stories from the original, print comic strips, told through a series of beautifully animated vignettes. From baseball and football to tennis and ice skating, the Peanuts gang learns the values of winning, losing, friendship and good sportsmanship in this entertaining release. Join Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang for some good, old-fashioned fun and games. While I have never been a huge fan of this strip I have still always found it to be entertaining. This new direction continues to be really fun with the look and style truly capturing the vibe of the comic strip while taking it into the world of animation. The format of this series allows you to just let it play and enjoy the fun without having to try and keep track of varying story arcs. This makes it so much easier to just jump in whenever and wherever you want just like reading the classic strip itself.

Much like the previous collection Snoopy Tales, I really enjoyed these episodes and felt the classic nature of the strips shine through. I applaud this idea and so glad that they managed to pull it off in such a brilliant simplistic manner. This is a must have if you are a fan of the Peanuts gang so grab your copy of Peanuts by Schulz: Go Team Go! available now as well as the previously released Peanuts by Schulz: Snoopy Tales on DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
