Every TV season there are a ton of new shows that hope to be that next big thing. In 2014 the series Scorpion starring Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Ari Stidham, Jadyn Wong and Robert Patrick. Teh show managed to be sucessfull enough to last four seasons and now CBS is bringing the show home in one collection.

Loosely based on the life of Walter O'Brien, the Scorpion Team helps the government and individuals solve problems and mysteries on a weekly basis.  Fans of the 'problem of the week' genre will enjoy the series as the team navigates a wide variety of issues. The Scorpion Team is comprised of a highly intelligent and quirky group of people, who due to their high IQ sometimes have trouble relating to normal people and everyday situations.  Luckily, they have Paige, to help them navigate daily life.

One of the most attractive things about the series is the family/team aspect of the show.  We start off with Walter and the other members of the team being very isolated and internalizing much of their day to day issues and struggles.  However, over the course of the show we see them start to grown emotionally, which is sometimes difficult for geniuses, and we also see them begin to form a real family. Each character was given some interesting and often fun arcs to keep all of them on the forefront.

At times and especially towards the end of the series, it did begin to become a bit repetitive in nature.  We couldn't even enjoy a happy birthday or wedding without the need for a case to be thrown into the show.  If the cases would have organically developed, it would have been a bit more believable. However they did feel forced.  A bit ridiculous a times, but still entertaining.

Despite the often unbelievable nature of some of their cases or circumstances they were all still handled pretty well with some interesting twists and turns along the way. This often helped the characters to evolve in both their fields study but also as humans.

This special 24-disc collection includes all 4 seasons and has some amazing bonus content!  We get behind-the-scenes features, delete scenes, audio commentaries, gag reels, etc. This is a not to be missed collection for fans and a great way for new viewers to get completely engrossed in a fun series.
