LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures                              Complete Season Two

                                    review by Bobby Blakey

When the Clone Wars animated series was canceled fans were pretty upset, but they have more than made up for it feeling the gap with Rebels. Outside of that series they took their fun LEGO specials to a new level with LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures. Now the fun show from a galaxy far, far away is back and bringing its second season home.

If you never saw the show it follows the Freemakers, a family of scavengers who build and sell starships from the scoured debris of space battles strewn throughout the galaxy. When their youngest discovers a natural connection with the Force through an ancient artifact. The Kyber Saber, his world is turned upside down, and he and his family are thrown into an epic struggle against the Empire to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy. In season two the three Freemaker siblings—Rowan, Kordi and Zander—have found a new home with the Rebel fleet. But working with the Rebels in their fight to bring down the Empire brings them face to face with brutal Imperial forces, desperate Hutts, conniving Sith Lords and the Emperor’s latest plaything, M-OC. This show continues to be a a lot of fun with this season taking to another new level of hilarity while keeping it attached to the rest of the Star Wars Universe.

The first season was fun as well, but as it looked to find its place was a bit all over the place. This one knew its direction and did a great job at pushing the story along and being funny without trying to force the jokes. I really loved this season as it not only kept a more cohesive direction to the story, but it connected even more to the rest of the Star Wars Universe. The new character M-OC was a fun addition adding just the needed menace they needed to drive it forward. This is one of those shows that I never thought would be able to fully work, but it continues to deliver and I hope it is here to stay for some time.

This collection features all 12 episodes as well as five bonus shorts to offer up even more fun for the fans. Join the Freemakers for an all-new season when LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Season Two comes to DVD on March 13th from Disney and Lucasfilm.
