Kevin Hart has had some big success with Netflix of late with his films Fatherhood and The Man From Toronto as well as his series True Story all being hits for the streaming service. His latest film has him teaming up with Mark Wahlberg for the comedy Me Time co-starring Regina Hall, John Amos, Jimmy O. Yang, and Luis Gerardo Mendez from I Love You Man, Along Came Polly and Little Fockers director John Hamburg at the helm. Could this comedy bring the expected laughs or will it get lost in the chaos?

Me Time follows a stay-at-home dad who finds himself with some “me time” for the first time in years while his wife and kids are away and reconnects with his former best friend for a wild weekend that nearly upends his life.

If you have seen the trailers for this film you already know the kind of chaos and fun you are in for. Hart has done films like this numerous times, but he gets the formula and always manages to bring the laughs and fun. I think he and Wahlberg are perfect together because they couldn’t be more different on screen, but have so many real life similarities that they have great chemistry.

The story is filled with laughs and heart bringing exactly the type of chaos you expect. There are a ton of laugh out loud moments here, but for me it is always those subtle jokes Heart delivers that always kill. There is a simple moment of him defending himself or preparing to fight that had me rolling. Wahlberg is always great in comedies because he goes all in and looks confident enough to poke fun at himself.

While not breaking down the barriers in comedy it brings a ton of laughs and fun along with some life lessons for everyone involved all wrapped up in a fun flick. Decide for yourself and check out Me Time when it streams exclusively on Netflix August 26th.
