One of my favorite movies of all time has always been The Wizard of Oz.  I can vividly remember watching this movie as a child with my family gathered around the TV.  I was so scared of the wicked witch and knew she was coming to get me! (and my little dog too).  I would cover my eyes and wait for her to leave and then would start singing along as we had to make it down that yellow brick road.

Now, I'm so excited to see this new release of The Wizard of Oz on 4K!  As I sat down to see this new version, I was taken back to my childhood and really enjoyed seeing the story come back to life in vivid color.  I was completely enthralled in the tale of Dorothy who gets whisked away 'over the rainbow' and wakes up in the mysterious Land of Oz.  Along the way she makes some unlikely friends who help her on her journey home.

As a child, I enjoyed seeing the strange characters sing and dance, but now I have a new appreciation for the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion.  I see how they each represent something that is part of our life journey.  The search for love, acceptance, courage to get through our day to day routine, and the feeling of belonging is so important to us all.  And I think we all know that having an odd collection of friends can bring immense joy to our life!

I feel that I was more engaged in the story this time than ever before.  Maybe because as I watched this new version, I was trying to be very aware and focused on what 'looked new' now that it's on 4K.  I was so invested in the movie this time around, that when we got to the end of our journey, and Dorothy made it home, I cried as she spoke her iconic "There's not place like home" line. I hope that you will revisit this classic story and enjoy your journey home.

In addition to the film this release offers up a ton of magical bonus content including commentary, illustrated video storybook, gallery, sing-along, featurettes and more. Grab your copy of The Wizard of Oz on 4K Ultra for the first time available now from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
